Adorable, but so short!Oct 20, 2009
By Carly Wilson I am 5'6" and wear a dress size 6. I ordered this in a Large, and when it came in the mail, I found the dress to be so short, it doesn't even cover my butt! I plan on buying leggings to wear under it to make it a bit more appropriate. Also, my calves are average-sized, but it was a squeeze just to get my leg in. Other than that, it looks exactly like the picture. Very good quality material, and velcro for an adjustable fit on the headband, armband, and boot covers. If you're thinking about ordering this, I'd say go for it!
Would have been cute, if I were 12Jan 10, 2010
By LeeLeeRT I read the first review about it being small, but I went for it anyway because I thought it was cute. The material did seem to be of good quality, and the accessories were adorable.
I ordered a small. Let me tell you that I am 5 foot 9 inches tall, and I weigh 115 lbs. Yes, I am thin. There is no reason why I had to take my bra off (I am small-busted) to get this one, and almost had to call a friend or take scissors to this item to get it off of me. For anyone that said they just wore shorts underneath, I could not do that. The fringe came up to my mid hip, and so the dress fit like a shirt. Also, the dress is tapered, so I couldn't have pretended it was a shirt. It was extremely tight on my ribs, and went really wide at my waist (assuming that it should have fallen on my hips at this point). It looked like I was wearing my little sisters dress.
The headband and arm bands fit fine, probably because I have a small head and am thin, but I couldn't even get the shoe covers on. I couldn't get my heel/ankle through them. Because I am tall, I do wear an 8.5 size shoe, but my feet are narrow and had no issue with this. It was the depth of the front part of my ankle, back to my heel that I couldn't squeeze in. I tried to velcro them around my calf and they fit fine there as well. I would have cut the openings a bit if the dress fit, but it looked so ridiculous I was forced to brave the Halloween stores since there was no time to order anything else. With all of these size oddities, it leads me to believe that the only possible conclusion is that this costume is made for an adolescent girl.
I would have been a bit more forgiving if there had been any indication on the packaging that I had misread the item description. But the packaging says "adult" and there is no size chart on the back. This is just a case of poor sizing, and a shame.
