My favorite bootsApr 05, 2008
By Jackie Alphonse When you first take them out of the box and strap them on, you're going to feel like you broke both legs and have been condemned to leg braces. A bit of warning: they're heavy. I think the shipping label said they weighed 8 pounds together. Haha. It's a great thing. Also, you're going to notice that they squeak a lot. Now how could I possibly still like these boots you ask?
Once you start wearing them, all of the problems start to disappear. Because they are almost completely leather they take a bit of time to wear in. The squeaking is pretty much gone now, and they've gotten more comfortable on the legs because I've been wearing them a lot. They're very adjustable because of all of the straps, so really it's all just a matter of adjusting them properly (they will always be stiff though, given the metal plates, steel toes, and what, 7 buckles?). Another thing, someone else commented that they are purely for show---well, actually---I have worn them hiking and even in the snow and haven't had a problem; they aren't even scratched yet. They seem pretty durable given that they're usually listed as fetish boots.
The only real complaint that I have is that the backs are a bit too tall for me, which makes it annoying while running (they probably didn't intend them for running...). But I think that might have to do with the fact that 1. I'm a woman, not a man (some sites list these boots as unisex, but they are actually made to fit men, not women). 2. I wear size 10 in men's even though I'm not that tall. Given proportions and everything, it's to be expected.
Over all, nice boots. They have their quirks, but are too cool to be branded with a mediocre 4 stars, so they get a 5.

Highly recommended!Dec 25, 2011
By Abby These boots are probably the most amazing things I've ever owned. Not only do they look cool as hell, but they're sturdy, tough, weatherproof, and durable. I'd highly recommend these shoes if you're looking for a tough pair of boots or something to go with a particular outfit or cosplay!
PROS: The pros of these shoes go far, but aren't without limitations. First off, they're made of solid leather, so they'll last for many years to come. They're waterproof (not including the zipper, of course) and have lasted me in all sorts of weather. They've got a steel toe which doesn't impede your foot room any, and each metal-plated strap is its own separate piece, quality-made and super adjustable for all shapes of legs! I personally bought these because I needed a good pair of long-lasting boots that wouldn't be ruined in the harsh snow where I live, and these boots have so far delivered. They're comfortable, strong, and look super cool!
CONS: Some bad comes with the good, although they're minor problems which can be easily avoided or fixed. The metal plates on the straps aren't securely fixed, and they might come off (one of mine is about to). However, this can be avoided by not being rough on the plates, or with a little strong glue (hot or gorilla glue), you can fix the plate yourself if you haven't lost the pieces! Also, when you first get these boots, the leather is VERY, VERY STIFF. It takes a good week to break them in, and until you do, they're going to be uncomfortable - stick with it, because these are worth it. I've also read others' reviews in which they said the zipper broke on them. The zippers on my boots are a little weak, but they haven't broke thus far; then again, I'm being extra careful with the zippers to ensure that doesn't happen!
**Lastly, if you're a girl ordering these, the boots come in MEN'S sizes, not womens'!! To convert your size to men's size, take whatever size you are (e.g.: women's size 8) and subtract two (e.g.: women's size 8 now becomes men's size 6). I wear a women's 10 and these boots in size 8 fit me just fine! However, if you have extra wide/sensitive feet or long toes, get one size bigger. It'll give your feet more room to breathe.
Hope this is helpful to everyone - give these a chance if you have the funds! Totally worth it.

Great boots, they are exactly as depicted in the picture. They also have a steel toe (for structural support only), and a zip-up side. So if you like what you see in the picture, then these boots are a great buy.

broken already!Jan 06, 2011
By Mohawk Mike These boots are made in china, the construction is cheap, the leather doesn't look or feel real.
My zipper broke on the second time I went to put them on and the boots weren't even strapped on tightly
these things look ultra rugged but the stitching is cheap the materials are cheap the zippers are garbage. the only thing that isn't cheap on these boots is the retail price.
