My son Thomas was looking for a boot to wear to the Sterling Renaissance Faire in upstate NY. There is quite a bit of walking and he wanted something that would be comfortable and also add to his costume. We found that in this boot, Thomas said they were quite "comfy" even after walking all day and was complimented several times on his choice of footwear.

For a costume boot it is really well made and looks great! My only complaint would be that it is a little uncomfortable after wearing the boots for an extended period. Iam hoping this can be resolved with some kind of insole insert. Overall a good buy though!

The boot looks good and is a pretty good value. However, there is a tendency for the metal buttons that hold the strings in place to pop off and get lost. This could be due to my having ordered a large (13-14) for a size 12 foot, but the only other option was small (8-9).

It would've been really nice to know that these were costume boots before I bought them. Also, they don't really stay closed. Like, at all. The strap system is strange and confusing, and I'm going to have to put my own closures on it to make it work for anything other than sedate walking for short periods of time. I ordered them a size bigger because I figured (rightly) that they'd be very narrow. They're still too narrow. Only redeeming quality is the price, and the fact that, when fixed, they'll look pretty good. If you want a DIY set of boots for real cheap, grab these. Otherwise, spend a bit more on some real boots.
